The Ambassador of Albania to Austria, Fate Velaj, held a meeting today with Peter Eisenschenk, mayor of Tulln, a city known as the "City of Flowers" due to its tradition and the famous flower fair organized there.
During the meeting, the possibility of establishing a partnership between Tulln and Përmet, which in Albania is also known as the “City of Flowers”, was discussed. According to Ambassador Velaj, the two cities share not only the symbolism of flowers, but also other natural elements, as Tulln is crossed by the Danube River, while Përmet is crossed by the Vjosa River.
The mayor of Tulln, Peter Eisenschenk, expressed optimism about the start of talks towards a possible cooperation between the two cities.
Tulln is also known as the birthplace of Austrian painter Egon Schiele, one of the most important figures of expressionist art in Austria.
" Today I held a meeting with Peter Eisenschenk, mayor of Tulln, otherwise known as the "City of Flowers", as the famous flower fair is also held here. I discussed with him the possibility of a partnership with Përmet, which is also known as the "City of Flowers". Our two cities are united not only by flowers, but also by rivers: Tulln is crossed by the Danube, while Përmet is crossed by the Vjosa. The mayor expressed optimism about the start of talks ", writes Velaj.
