Former MP Lefter Maliqi has commented on Altin Ndoc's escape, which occurred about a week ago from the premises of the Durrës regional hospital during a medical visit.
Maliqi described the entire procedure as a complete failure, emphasizing that every institution for the execution of criminal decisions (IEVP) in Albania has permanent health staff, including nurses, doctors, and dentists.
According to him, when a prisoner has health problems, he is initially treated within the institution and then in the prison hospital, and only in cases where he cannot be taken care of, is he sent to a civilian hospital outside the prison system.
Regarding his escape, Maliqi stated that it was an act of organized crime, committed for pay.
The former MP expressed surprise that the convict was accompanied by only three police officers, while, according to him, the operational forces of the prisons attached to SPAK, as well as the State Police, should have been engaged.
According to Maliqi, the circumstances of the escape raise serious doubts about well-organized collaboration, as the person who was waiting for Altin Ndoc outside the hospital in a car was informed that there was no question of an escort from the State Police, while Ndoc himself knew exactly the route he would follow.
Maliqi adds that these elements point to a well-paid and pre-planned scheme.
