Safet Bajri has been in prison for many months, after being accused of the murder of Fatbardh Lici.
A video of his lawyer has gone viral, as he appears in a wheelchair and inside it he has placed investigative files in boxes.
The arrest of Safet Bajri came just three days after RENEA special forces conducted searches in several apartments in the Dobraç area, known as the Bajri tribe neighborhood, including Safet Bajri's apartment.
Safet Bajri, along with Behar Bajri, Astmer Bilal and Eria Agon, are accused by SPAK of the murder of Fatbardh Lici.
The motive for Lici's murder, according to SPAK, is related to Behar Bajri's suspicion that Ibrahim Lici had killed a member of their group, former police officer Boran Bërçana, on July 15, 2018, who was executed in a car along with his partner Silvi Ndoci, while the 3-year-old child survived.
For the murder of Fatbardh Lici, SPAK has filed charges of "Premeditated Murder", committed in the special form of collaboration, that of a structured criminal group, as well as "structured criminal group" and "commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group" against Safet Bajri, Behar Bajri and Astmer Bilali.
Who is Safet Bajri?
Safet Bajfri is accused of drug trafficking and prostitution by the Brussels Court. For these charges, he was sentenced by the Appeals Court in Brussels to 9 years in prison. Meanwhile, in Albania, Safet Bajri is accused of drug trafficking, murder, extortion and blackmail.
Safet Bajri, also known as the "strongman" of Shkodra, is also being investigated by Albanian justice for the Dobraçi massacre, on October 30, 2024, where Hamza Lici and Arlind Bushati were killed, while the barrage of bullets also took the lives of two passers-by, a man and a woman, Bashkim and Flutura Basha.
Another criminal event for which Safet Bajri and other members of the "Bajri" group are being investigated is the gunfight in Bushat, Shkodra on August 23, 2024.
Several members of the Bajri group, some of whom were identified by SPAK, armed to the teeth and with armored vehicles, had organized everything to kill their rival, Aleksandër Prendin, and his family members. The latter responded to the group with bullets and there were no victims or injuries from the gunfight.
Safet Bajri is also suspected of collaborating with Asmer Bilali in the 2018 murder of Fatbardh Lici, the brother-in-law of Lulzim Kulla, the latter another well-known name in the underworld.
The Bajri and Lici tribes, known in the city of Shkodra, have a bloody history of clashes, with a long saga of murder between the two criminal groups.
