The criminalistics expert, Ervin Karamuço, speaking about the serious incident in Pogradec where the 42-year-old Egli Proga lost his life, said that the security cameras are already in the hands of the police.
In an interview for "Newsline" on ABC News, Karamuço stated that the prosecution made a serious mistake, reclassifying the criminal offense from "intentional murder" to manslaughter.
The expert emphasizes that if it is proven from the investigations that Denis Meçe threatened the 42-year-old to take the ransom money, according to him, another criminal offense will be applied, not "intentional murder", but "coercion by of intimidation and violence", which in the case of loss of life, goes up to life imprisonment.
"For me, from all the information that has come, either through the official channels, or from the testimony of other people, I can say that the police never had the aim of hiding this event, due to the very fact that even the referral itself he did it correctly. For me, if other circumstances and facts emerge from those that will be stated in the testimony, another criminal offense will be applied, not "intentional murder", but "coercion through threats and violence", which in the case of loss of the person's life, goes up to life imprisonment.
But it's too soon to say that. There are still contradictory testimonies that need to be clarified by one of the prosecution, which until now has a yellow card. He made a very serious mistake, the way he changed, requalified from the police referral, the criminal offense. In the first case, what was said was completely refuted, I don't know why there was so much misinformation. The security cameras are fully in the hands of the police, both of the bar and of the market, they saw the whole event, they are administered in the prosecutor's file. The police also sent experts from Tirana to see and verify all the footage. On the other hand, the police made the referral, made the negotiation, because the author was about to escape. He finally gave up. I think that the police, as far as the information until this morning, has not taken any action that I suspect, to see if there is arbitrariness or concealment of evidence ", he emphasized.
