The Operational Forces of the General Directorate of Prisons have undertaken a surprise operation at the high-security prison in Peqin, where detailed checks have been taking place since the early hours of the morning.
According to sources for journalist Anila Hoxha, the action was ordered by the director general of prisons and involved a broad mobilization of operational structures.
Currently, controls are being extended to all premises of the institution, including cells and common areas, as part of verifications for security and enforcement of rules.
Around 20 vehicles with operational forces were engaged in the operation, which shows the scale of the intervention and the importance of this action in Peqin prison.
