The Ministry of Health has officially reacted after the violence against the former leader of the Democratic Party in Dajç, Lezha, Sokol Toma, announcing that he is under medical care at the University Trauma Hospital.
According to the ministry's announcement, Toma is being monitored in an emergency room for injuries to his lower limbs and ear, while his condition appears to be stabilized.
"Patient ST is under intensive monitoring in the emergency room of the University Trauma Hospital, with injuries to his lower limbs and ear injuries. He is conscious and in a stabilized condition. He will continue to receive treatment at the SUT," the official response states.
The serious incident was recorded on Friday evening in Lezha, where the former leader of the Democratic Party of Albania (DP) is suspected of being raped by several people, suffering multiple bodily injuries.
According to preliminary information, he suffered fractures in his legs and a cut on his ear as a result of the physical aggression.
The circumstances of the incident and the identity of the perpetrators still remain unclear, while the reaction of law enforcement agencies is awaited to fully clarify the incident.
