The head of IKMT, Afrim Qendror, has suspended Ergys Agas' brother-in-law from his duties, following the scandal that occurred in Fatmir Meta's office. The latter was raped by Klesti Çela and several other people.
The incident is suspected to have come after a verbal clash that occurred the day before between the parties. The conflict is related to an inspection group on the issue of soil. According to them, Fatmir Meta blocked the vehicles of entities that were dumping soil in the outskirts of Tirana.
After the initial debate, the following day, the situation escalated into physical violence within the institution's premises. After the media published the incident, the head of IKMT suspended the individuals involved from their duties.
The General Inspectorate has also been put in motion over the incident. Dashnor Sula has stated that no incident will go unpunished.
" Immediately after receiving the official notification from the IKMT, the responsible structures of the General Inspectorate have initiated a full verification and documentation of the event. The persons involved have been suspended from duty until the completion of the administrative and criminal investigation. In parallel, all disciplinary mechanisms provided for by the legislation in force have been put into motion.
The General Inspectorate does not tolerate any form of violence, inappropriate behavior or violation of institutional integrity. Public administration should be a model of correctness, professionalism and accountability.
"The integrity of the institution and the trust of citizens are absolute priorities. The General Inspectorate will continue to inform the public and the media on the progress of the procedures ," the announcement states.
