The Minister of Health, Evis Sala, together with the director of the Mother Teresa University Hospital Center, Anxhela Paparizo, held a press conference this Thursday to discuss the current state of the healthcare system in the country.
One of the main topics was the lack of medicines and therapies for patients with serious illnesses.
The Director of the QSUT, Anxhela Paparizo, was asked about the issue of corruption within hospitals, where patients are sometimes forced to pay for services that should be free.
Paparizo said that he is not aware of such cases and that so far there has been no official complaint to the relevant structures about doctors receiving money.
"To my knowledge, I have not heard of any money being taken, we have not had any complaints to the relevant structures about money being taken by doctors," she said.
