Former prosecutor Ervin Karanxha analyzed the justice situation and the problematic nature of the law on the return of property to former owners, in the context of the tragic event of the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja.
Karanxha described the way the property litigation process works as a great shame and injustice.
"It is a great shame that the law on the return of property to former owners was made against the owner. There has always been a tendency for the owner not to take his land. Today, exactly what was predicted is happening: you start a trial when you are 50 years old and it ends when you are 80. You take the property to the grave ," said Karanxha on the "Off the Record" show on A2 CNN.
He added that the long and bureaucratic court process means that most former owners never manage to retrieve their properties during their lifetime.
"The laws of the early '90s were made to the detriment of the owner. Many times the owner only receives a court order and never the land that belongs to him," the former prosecutor emphasized.
