
The Constitutional Court has accepted the lawsuit of the Democratic Party Group regarding the law on taxation of free professions. The black squads have requested that the DP Group present additional arguments, if they have them, by May 21.
The Constitutional Court has decided "to pass the case for consideration in a public plenary session as well as to summon the Albanian Assembly and the Council of Ministers to this trial, in the capacity of interested subjects."
"We inform you that in the preliminary examination of the request of the petitioners, no less than 1/5 of the deputies of the Assembly of Albania, with the object: "Abrogation of Article 24. point 2 of Article 69, point 1. letter "d" second sentence, of Law No. 29/2023 "On Income Tax", amended as incompatible with the Constitution of the Republic of Albania", the College of the Constitutional Court, on 05.04.2024, based on Article 21, point 1, of the Law no. 8577, dated 10.02.2000 "On the organization and functioning of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania", as amended, (law no. 8577/2000), has decided to transfer the case for consideration to a public plenary session as well as the call to this judgment, in the capacity of interested subjects, the Assembly of Albania and the Council of Ministers.
For the most complete development of this trial, the Constitutional Court deems it necessary to make available, by 21.05.2024, written submissions, if you have additional arguments for the submitted request. The submissions, as well as any document/material, should be presented in as many copies as there are parties.

Requests, submissions, as well as the materials presented by you will also be communicated to other parties participating in this process", the Court announces.
