SPAK requests financial expertise on the assets of former Kavaja mayor Elvis Roshi.
As sources at the special prosecutor's office indicate, the investigation into the accusation against Roshi is oriented towards suspicions of concealing wealth and not justifying it.
The property investigations against the former mayor are related not only to expenses but also to investments made over the years. The accounts with SPAK Roshi were opened by a decision of the special court which refused to suspend the investigations of the Durrës prosecution on the report of the Albanian Supreme Audit Office that found violations in tenders by the former mayor of Kavaja.
And while other former mayors are under investigation for concealing assets, a few days ago, former Himara mayor Jorgo Goro was also convicted for not declaring an apartment. For another, Fatos Tushen, who headed the Lushnja municipality, the charge of concealing assets was raised after he was convicted for tenders.
SPAK tells Top Channel that since its creation in 2019, it has brought 17 former mayors or mayors to court, charging them with corruption, 15 of them, and only two of them, for other offenses.
