SPAK has called this Friday the former candidate for the municipality of Kruja, Agron Loka.
Loka has been summoned to be questioned regarding the investigations being conducted by the Special Prosecutor's Office for vote buying in the local elections of May 14, 2023.
Loka was questioned by the investigators as a person with knowledge. This is because, a few hours before the May 14 elections, a 48-year-old man was arrested by the Kruja Police after he was caught with a list of names and cash in order to buy votes. The police stated that the arrested person was buying votes for the Reestablishment candidate, Agron Loka.
The arrested Bedri Murati, the police found in his "Volkswagen" type vehicle a sum of money of 69 thousand new lek, some euro coins as well as a list of voters of the administrative unit Cudhi, Krujë.
SPAK has been conducting investigations for several months, while it is learned that the prosecutors have questioned all the persons found in the list available to Murati. The number of persons questioned by SPAK is around 30, names which were found on Murat's list.
After his arrest, it was verified that Bedri Murati was previously convicted for the criminal offenses "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
The SPAK Special Prosecutor's Office is conducting investigations into "Active corruption in elections".
