A few days ago, in the anti-drug operation "Flake ne det", the chief of the Lachi police station, Dritan Metaj, was arrested. The latter is accused of collaboration with the criminal group of the drug 'baron', Gëzim Çela.
In an interview for the show "Open" on "News 24", Journalist Klodiana Lala stated that Metaj has long had connections and contacts with Çela, favoring him in drug trafficking, and giving him information about police operations.
"Metaj had old acquaintances and connections with Çela, who has been on the run since 2014, after turning his villa into a cocaine laboratory, but also for other charges. Metaj informed him about the actions of the police, he gave him help even through moving police vehicles. The entire area of Fushë-Kuqe openly says that Çela has never moved from the area. So Metaj also knew about the drugs that would be exchanged at sea.
Metaj was kept under observation for several months. He denies the part about drug trafficking, but says he was familiar with it and 'admits the mistake'. But the prosecution believes the opposite, that he had information about the movement of drugs. The part of the border police is also being investigated, since the ship that was going to exchange the drugs entered from Cape Rodoni ", said Lala.
