Journalist Arion Sulo, speaking about the political situation in the country, raised concerns about the way the new parliamentary session began, describing the lack of presentation of the "Rama 4" government program as an unprecedented event.
According to him, this is the antechamber of a deformed Parliament, where there will only be votes and no plenary sessions and accountability.
He predicted a difficult and damaging session for democracy, where the majority will turn the Assembly into a notary of government decisions, draft laws, concessions, and permits.
" What impressed me is the lack of presentation of the "Rama 4" government program in Parliament, which is happening for the first time in 35 years of pluralism. I think this is a very serious event and is the antechamber of the deformed Parliament, where we will have voting sessions and not plenary sessions as we are used to. Yesterday's session was the first of its kind, but it will be followed by the entire parliamentary session until another event. There will only be votes and no responsibility, no accountability, no alternative from the opposition, no demand for accountability will be given. There will be nothing, no interpellation, no discussion, but we will only hear 82, 83, 86 or more votes. The majority and the government will make the Parliament only the notary of decisions, draft laws, concessions, government permits. I foresee a very bad parliamentary session, very difficult and very harmful for democracy in the country ," said Sulo in an interview for "Tema e "Day" on RTSH.
