Sociologist Gëzim Tushi has spoken about the serious incident that recently came to light in Durrës where 3 children were arrested for the murder of their 50-year-old father Pëllumb Meta.
Describing it as a macabre crime, Tushi said that the reason for such events was the breakdown of the relationship between parents and children, while he underlined that before going to such an action, the children could have reported to the police regarding the claims that they had that their father was violent and authoritarian.
"Relationships between parents and children are broken. There is a kind of conflict between parents and children. Some parents want to parent in a way that they think they can do as they want with their children. An old model. But there is also other cases where children misbehave with their parents. We have phenomena of abandonment. The stability of Albanian society is breaking.
"Such a criminal act cannot be justified just because their father may have been authoritarian. Solutions with weapons and death are unacceptable, they are medieval macabre. Such contradictions can have different families, but this does not mean that we should kill the parents" , said the sociologist for "Report Tv".
