Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli has put forward another interesting thesis on recent geopolitical developments and their impact on Albania. Invited to the "Debat" show on A2 CNN, Vangjeli warned that the country may soon face a difficult strategic choice: between the European Union and the United States of America.
"Perhaps Albania could be facing an extraordinary choice, which in a very simple way I would say would be to choose between Brussels and Washington," said Vangjeli.
He added that a few months ago such a clash between Albania's two most important strategic partners could not even be imagined. "No one imagined a collision course between the US and Europe, a division that starts not only from interests, but also from different philosophies," the analyst emphasized.
According to Vangjeli, the presidency of Donald Trump has played a key role in this new division of approaches between the two traditional allies. “Trump in one way or another woke up Europe, but this is a kind of awakening from its anxiety that has to do with security issues, but also with economic development, ” he said.
