Militants and supporters of the Democratic Party have not given up on the protest and have returned again this evening to the area in front of the Albanian Parliament, despite previous police interventions and the dispersal of the crowd.
After the clashes and tensions that had arisen earlier, protesters have gathered again near the Parliament, attempting to approach the security cordons. Police forces have reacted by increasing their presence on the ground and using tear gas to disperse the crowd and keep the protesters away from the Parliament building.
The area around Parliament has been blanketed in tear gas smoke, while protesters have partially dispersed into the surrounding streets. The situation remains tense, with occasional verbal confrontations and constant crowd movement.
