Former prosecutor Shkëlqim Hajdari commented on the justice situation in the country, as well as the sensational events investigated by SPAK.
Hajdari spoke first about the release from the cell of the former Minister of the Interior, Saimir Tahiri, whose sentence he said is a good omen for the future of justice in the country.
As for the release, he said that the reasoning of the court seemed normal and that Tahir's release from prison will not change anything since he has already received the sentence.
He further spoke about the arrest of the former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, for whom he said that the prosecution will not hinder the continuation of the investigation, where it may discover other criminal acts.
Recently, Hajdari also commented on the video-scandal of the mayor of Kukës, Safet Gjici, as he said that it does not matter whether he is qualified for a criminal offense or not, since in his judgment, what happened is more than a criminal offense.
" I watched Tahir's release from the cell from afar. From the outside the reasoning seems like a normal thing. The punishment of Tahir, and of other former officials, these are good omens and I have been waiting for them. I expect from SPAK persistent attacks on the files it has under investigation. There will be no more problems to bring high officials to justice, the ice has been broken. The purpose of punishment is rehabilitation. Whether or not Tahiri did that year and a half, he has received the sentence.
The prosecution has no obstacle to investigate Dako's other activities. It will be investigated and other criminal offenses may emerge. Investigations should not be prejudiced.
I think that the biggest problem in the administration is corruption. Here, legal regulations are needed so that the responsibility is direct because the tendering procedures are still carried out by the technical levels of the institutions. Political leadership is not involved, but this story needs to be resolved.
SPAK does not do operational work. Other bodies in the state must cooperate with SPAK by presenting the cases. The opposition has helped with its denunciations. A case when the investigation starts, it will have an end. The incinerators had a tendency to rest, but are now being investigated. I am convinced that SPAK will be a success story in Albania.
The case of the mayor of Kukës, for the sake of the measure he took, does not matter if he qualifies as a criminal offense or not. For me, it is more than a criminal offense ", said Hajdari in "Kjo Javë".
