The Director of the Shkodra Regional Hospital, Senad Halluni, in a press conference, provided more details regarding the loss of the 3-year-old's life and the condition of his sister, who is currently hospitalized at the QSUT.

He stated that on Friday afternoon the father showed up with his children who were showing signs of vomiting. After treatment, doctors asked the father to hospitalize the children but he decided to take the children home.

A day later, the director of the Shkodra Hospital said, the 3-year-old arrived in a very serious condition, almost lifeless, with a low pulse. Despite the doctors' efforts, the 3-year-old unfortunately passed away. Meanwhile, 30 minutes later, his sister showed up, and the pediatric staff decided to urgently send him to Tirana.

"I express my condolences for the loss of life of 3-year-old Omer Hasmegaj. He presented himself on Friday at 16:40, with signs of vomiting. He was treated for these symptoms by the doctor on duty. Around 19:00, the family was asked to be hospitalized. The father signed to take the child and not continue treatment.

On Saturday, the 22nd at 9:40, the 3-year-old boy arrived in a very serious condition, almost lifeless, with a low pulse. Doctors tried to resuscitate him and for 45 minutes every effort was made to keep him alive, but unfortunately the 3-year-old boy passed away. After 30 minutes, his sister showed up, and the pediatric staff decided to urgently send him to Tirana. The competent authorities were notified, where the procedures were carried out, to perform an autopsy, which is the most accurate method for establishing a diagnosis ," he said.

Asked if he had an answer for the diagnosis, the director said that cardiorespiratory failure is suspected.

" The fact that her sister also has the same symptoms, there is no answer to finding the cause and diagnosis, but from the contacts I have, they are talking about cardiorespiratory insufficiency," he concluded.
