The Tirana Prosecution Office has launched investigations into several entities that provide postal services after they committed tax evasion.
The announcement states that goods without tax invoices and 13 million lek have been seized.
"The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana registers criminal proceedings no. 156, year 2026, for the criminal offense of tax evasion, provided for by article 180 of the Criminal Code.
After permission from the court, at the request of the proceeding body, inspections were carried out at several entities that provide postal services in the capital.
So far, the controls have resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of goods received without tax invoices, 13 million lek, as well as accompanying documentation, evidence that, according to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, shows illegality in terms of tax evasion, as well as sums of money suspected of deriving from illegal activity.
"Investigations continue to identify the real sellers and fully document the illegal activity," the prosecution announced.
