"The Democratic Party was destroyed by non-women themselves", Ngjela:

The well-known lawyer, Spartak Ngjela has commented on the latest political developments. The lawyer said that the opposition's protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office failed because it was led by a "non grata" and by a character who is against Albania.

"What strength will Berisha get, they have no votes and no more power. And why did he get the seal? The Democratic Party has been destroyed by Sali Berisha herself because she is 'non-women' in America. Berisha is against Albania, where, like what, we will watch it and it takes time, don't be upset" , said Ngjela.

On the other hand, he said that the former democratic prime minister has no votes, as this fact has also been evidenced by international polls, and in this way he cannot take power. Also, the lawyer showed the maneuver of Sali Berisha to escape from the disclosure of all the affairs in the US "non-grata" file. Njjela said that if Berisha opened a trial with the Americans, they would open the file.

"Sali Berisha has no votes. He is 'non grata' in the USA, why didn't he go to trial? He didn't do it because they opened the files. Power does not deal with protests, it deals with votes. The Democratic Party, according to international polls, has 16%-17%. What will he win with 17%, he destroyed the PD", said Ngjela.

Also, on the other hand, Ngjela warned of the declaration of PD "non grata". He mentions the warning of Blinken, who said that if Sali Berisha is placed at the head of the Democratic Party, he will be declared "non grata". "You can't have an opposition party and lead a party in Albania when you are a 'non-women' in America." Blinken has said that if he got DP, the party will be 'non-grata', said lawyer Ngjela.

The American message

We recall that after the decision of the Court of Appeal, which gave the seal of Sali Berisha's Democratic Party, the Americans gave a strong "slap" to the former prime minister and to all those who go after "non-women" that they should also consider once the step they are taking and be careful with relations with those sanctioned by the USA, where in this case Argita Malltezi is also included. "Our position regarding individuals designated as non-grata remains unchanged: we do not engage with individuals designated under US sanctions authority, and everyone should carefully consider how they work with individuals designated by the US," the Embassy stated. . This "bombastic" reaction warns PD that if they support Sali Berisha and Argita Malltez, they will face sanctions. DP all "non-women" But the subtext of the reaction of the American embassy was clear both for Sali Berisha and for his group: Enough of playing with two gates, either with us or with what we have declared a symbol of corruption and undermining of Albanian democracy! The attitude towards Berisha was strengthened, as his black fate has been sealed in time in the USA.

This is not the only warning for DP, which already ended up in the hands of Berisha again after the Appeal decision. On May 20, 2024, US Deputy Assistant Secretary Gabriel Escobar said that he hopes that someone who reminds them of the bad times will not be in charge of the DP. Also, on November 10, 2021, the American ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, warned of the termination of US relations with PD if Sali Berisha returns to the head of the party. Kim's message implies that the return of Berisha would make the entire PD "non-grata" for the United States of America. The ambassador emphasized that this was a policy followed by the US around the world. "It's not going to happen. We will not engage with anyone who has been announced by the Secretary of State. This is a worldwide policy and has nothing to do with individuals, but the general policy is that we cannot imagine a scenario where I or any of my descendants would pretend everything is fine and go for coffee with someone that has been announced by the Secretary of State for major corruption. It's not going to happen," Kim declared at the time.

The "isolation" of Berisha

Also, the US special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, was quite firm and clear on January 10, 2021, when he pointed out that the DP will have consequences if it elects a person declared "non-grata" as its leader. ". "Where are the prosecutors, investigators and authorities in your country? We do it according to our own laws, but you also have some in your country. If you want to know, investigate. We don't meet with him, there will be consequences if the PD chooses someone declared 'non grata'", said Escobar. The position confirms that the warnings about the consequences that DP will have if Berisha returns to its leadership, are positions of the US government and not a personal position of Yuri Kim, as Berisha claims. Escobar's message was reinforced 5 days later by Ambassador Yuri Kim.

"If this happened, there would be consequences. So we don't tell you who to vote for, but we think you should make informed decisions. In this sense, we have made it very clear that if the Democratic Party or any party is led by someone, is represented by someone who has been determined by the Secretary of State for major corruption, then you cannot expect a normal relationship. That's all we did, we provided information", said Kim. / Gazeta SOT
