Chris LaCivita, the American election strategist who co-led the presidential campaign to return Donald Trump to the White House in the November 5, 2024 elections, has taken on a key role in the Republican internal race for candidates to run for the Senate.
LaCivita gained attention in Albanian politics when he appeared alongside Sali Berisha, the Democratic Party leader, in the campaign for the May 11 elections. LaCivita was presented as the campaign manager of the Democrats and their allies, while his associates, including pollster Tony Fabrizio, were also involved with him. LaCivita did not have success in Albanian politics, while Edi Rama, who took his 4th term as Prime Minister, did not hesitate to christen him with the name 'Latif', describing him as 'the strongman of the neighborhood'.
"Bufi has brought, with who knows how much money and who knows where he found it, a Latif from America. Latif, for all of us who grew up in the neighborhoods of Tirana, reminds us of that neighborhood strongman who goes to the palace and calls out: 'Come on Latif, they're going to beat me up'", Edi Rama ironically.
LaCivita was no longer involved in the political situation in Albania after May 11, but it seems that he and his associates seem to be the only hope that Berisha's DP has for May 11.
Recently, American media outlet Axios reported that Texas Senator John Cornyn has hired Chris LaCivita, one of President Trump's top political advisors, to help him defeat Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the Republican primary.
LaCivita's inclusion seems to indicate that Cornyn is trying to align himself more closely with President Trump. But a recent poll commissioned by the Senate Leadership Fund showed Cornyn was twice as far behind Paxton.
But even before that poll came out, Cornyn was making moves to bolster his genuine faith in Trump and boasted about his record of 99% Trump support. Meanwhile, Paxton accuses Cornyn of being a fake Trumpist.
LaCivita is joining Texans for a Conservative Majority, a super PAC supporting Cornyn's reelection bid, Axios has learned. Cornyn has also hired Tony Fabrizio, another top Trump strategist, to work on his campaign.
The race between Cornyn and Paxton is taking the form of a rematch of the 2024 primary battle when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis ran against Trump.
Paxton has hired Axiom, a prominent Republican consulting firm, to lead his campaign.
LaCivita is also advising former Michigan Representative Mike Rogers, who is running for Senate. /Pamphlet/
