Hundreds of citizens have taken to the streets again against the investment
For the third day in a row, hundreds of citizens and activists have gathered in Tirana to protest against the tourist project planned to be built in Zvërnec.
The rally began at Skanderbeg Square, where protesters gathered with banners and slogans against the project, and then continued their march towards the Prime Minister's Office. Organizers report a high turnout, while opposition to the investment seems to be growing.
With banners reading messages such as “Zvërneci is not touched,” “Cancel the project,” and “Albania is not for sale,” the protesters are demanding a halt to the investment, which the government says is worth around 4 billion euros. According to them, the fight is not against development or foreign investment, but for the protection of one of the most important natural areas in the country.
The protest saw environmental activists, youth, family members, and citizens of all ages take to the streets to oppose the project. There was also a lack of banners with messages against the political class, while some protesters expressed criticism of the entire political spectrum.

Today's mobilization comes after protests against the project have continued for several days. The debate intensified after Saturday's events in Zvërnec, where there were tensions and clashes between protesters and private security workers, images of which were later widely shared on social media.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted on social media by publishing a video from the protests and calling on opponents of the project to sit down for dialogue. The head of government has asked the protesters to elect up to 20 representatives for a public meeting, where, according to him, all concerns related to investment, property, transparency and nature protection can be discussed.
Rama's invitation for dialogue has brought mixed reactions among protesters, while organizers have made it clear that opposition to the project will continue in the coming days.

On the other hand, the government continues to defend the investment, considering it one of the largest tourism projects ever planned in Albania and with a significant impact on the economy, employment, and tourism development.
As the march continues towards the Prime Minister's Office, organizers have warned that the protests will not stop and that citizen pressure will continue until the project is withdrawn.
