SPAK investigates, government signs: Fatmir Bektashi building complex and the Great Ring Road
They criticize, attack and anathema each other every day in public, but behind the scenes it seems that the bargaining continues without stopping. The story of the builder Fatmir Bektashi is becoming the strongest symbol of the political hypocrisy between Edi Rama and Sali Berisha.
While SPAK has filed two serious files implicating Bektashi for corruption and money laundering, the government continues to reward him with building permits and projects worth millions of euros in the heart of Tirana and the most coveted areas of the country.
Bektashi, known as the close associate of Sali Berisha's son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, is today one of the most favored builders in Albania. Ironically, after the "Partizani" scandal broke, his company "Kontakt" did not shrink, but launched the largest construction offensive.
Initially, the “Kaimi” project was launched, then “Kadiu”, where the buildings are now nearing completion. Next came the expansion to Drilon, while in Farka about 800 new apartments are being built, in addition to dozens of villas in the “Aba” complex. At the same time, Bektashi has also spread its tentacles to Dajt with the “Oxa” residence.
But the appetite doesn't stop there.
Recently, the company "Kontakt" has announced another mega-project near the Grand Ring Road in Tirana, named "Naya", a complex of giant concrete cubes that is expected to occupy another space in the capital.
" A different development, with modern architecture and a unique identity, very close to the Grand Ring Road, with direct connections to the center of Tirana ," the company advertises the new project that is expected to launch soon.
The question that arises is simple: how is it possible that a person with two voluminous files at SPAK, under investigation for corruption and money laundering, continues to obtain construction permits one after another?
And the paradox becomes even stronger when one remembers the direct connection with the Berisha family. The company "Kontakt", through its ownership structures, is linked to the company "Magnet Imo", which is controlled by Jamarbër Malltezi, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who is also under indictment by SPAK in the "Partizani" file.
So, while in public Rama and Berisha are sold as political enemies, the people close to them continue to build, earn millions, and expand their concrete empire in every corner of Tirana.
In the end, SPAK seems to move at one pace, while construction permits move at a completely different pace. /Pamphlet
