The first immigrant sheltered in Gjadra is repatriated to his country of origin

The first immigrant sheltered in Gjadra has been repatriated to his country of origin.

According to Italian media, the repatriated citizen is a 42-year-old Bangladeshi national who entered Italian territory in 2009. Italian authorities decided to deport him due to the high social risk he posed. He has previously been convicted of several criminal offenses, including a serious case of domestic violence.

After the necessary legal procedures and his detention at the Gjadri Center, he was deported to his country of origin.

Regarding this development, Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi reacted through a post on X, where he described this as an important step in the fight against illegal immigration.

" The first repatriation from Albania of a foreign citizen at the Gjadër Repatriation Center. Repatriation operations of irregular migrants will continue in the coming days, as foreseen by the government's strategy for more effective action to combat illegal immigration ," declared Piantedosi.
