Today is the coldest day of the year so far. According to weather forecasters, the most problematic areas are the northeast and southeast of the country, where temperatures recorded as low as -11 degrees in the city of Peshkopia, while in Korça the thermometer went as low as -9. After the frosty weather, temperatures will increase, starting from Tuesday.

"Today we can say that it was the coldest day of the winter period so far, with the thermometer in the city of Peshkopia reaching -11 degrees Celsius, while in the capital the temperatures reached -2 ​​degrees. Starting tomorrow we have a gradual decrease in temperatures, while tomorrow the temperatures will reach -6 degrees Celsius in the mountainous areas," said weather forecaster Besa Shellorari for "Abc News".

According to the weather forecast, we expect temperatures to increase by midweek. The weather will be stable, mostly sunny, but there will be some cloudiness, and no rain is expected.

"On Thursday and Friday, temperatures will reach 17-18 degrees Celsius, mainly in low-lying areas and on the coast. While in the mountains, temperatures will be -1 or -2 on Friday. As for the weather, all these days there will be stable air masses, which will bring clear skies and few temporary clouds, but without the presence of rainfall ," she said.

This Monday, frost was also recorded on several mountain roads in the country, for which forecasters said that these will gradually decrease, as temperatures will increase.
