Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu commented on the Democratic Party's protest on December 24 in front of the Prime Minister's Office, describing it as a "show that satisfied all parties," except the country.
In a live broadcast of the show "5 Questions from Babaramo" on Report TV, Spahiu said that the protest was not of the united opposition, but simply an internal activity of the DP, with slogans for militants and without real influence on the Rama government.
" The protest achieved its goal for both those who participated and those who did not. Even those who were against were satisfied because in the end it remained within the circle of the DP and it did not become an opposition protest ," he said.
According to him, the majority took advantage of the violent image conveyed by the international media, using the protest as evidence that the PD is a non-constructive force. “ Even the socialists are pleased because they want to portray the PD as a violent party. The police reaction was hasty, but neither side crossed the line into violence ,” said Spahiu, describing the event as a planned scenario that gave each party a little propaganda.
He stressed that the protest did not pose any danger to the government and that the statements about Rama's overthrow are simply for internal consumption. " Rama and the government are not in danger. But Berisha postponed the overthrow to February 20, June 1. Both the DP and the SP have benefited from the protest. But has Albania won? ", said the lawyer.
Spahiu concluded his analysis with a direct criticism of the image of violence: " If you say we are going to overthrow Edi Rama and you don't succeed, you have lost. Albania gains nothing from this image ."
