Journalist Adriatik Doçi has spoken about Shkëlzen Berisha's close ties with the weapons dismantling business in Gërdec. He said that Berisha had close ties with former minister Fatmir Mediu.
"At the end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007, Shkëlzen Berisha often went to Fatmir Mediu's house. And at the moment, when Shkëlzen Berisha was in and out of Fatmir Mediu, Fatmir Mediu exerts some kind of pressure on the government, of course together with Sali Berisha, to finalize the tender procedure for the dismantling of ammunition", said Doçi.
Doçi also shows the clash that the former Minister of Finance Ridvan Bode had in the government with Fatmir Mediu regarding the tender of the company that would carry out the dismantling of weapons in Gërdec
"Apparently, the former Minister of Finance Ridvan Bode was not aware and there was a debate on February 17, 2007, between Fatmir Mediu and Ridvan Bode, since Bode wanted it to be a tender with an open procedure that many companies participated in this process, while Mediu wanted the tender to be predetermined and in the end Mediu's version wins, because on March 14, 2007, Sali Berisha by means of a decision delegates to Fatmir Mediu the whole matter of Gërdec where he was the American company that would carry out the dismantling was also predetermined," he said.
Also, the journalist further reflects the connections between Delijorgji, Fahri Balli's daughter, and Shkëlzen Berisha in this story.
"The company had a representative in Albania, Rrahman Selmanllari, who was a close friend of Shkëlzen Berisha. To prepare was the company Albademil of Mihal Delijorgjit. Mihal Delijorgji appears to have had close ties with Shkëlzen Berisha. Mihal Delijorgji had contracted another company to prepare the ground, where Fahri Balli's daughter was a shareholder. I don't believe that Fatmir Mediu is a direct beneficiary of this scheme, but it is Shkëlzen Berisha", said the journalist.

"In this particular case, it was delegated by Sali Berisha, because initially it was tried to give this type of business by government decision. So that people understand once again, that all these elements come out, that this is a job for Shkëlzen. It's a family business", said Doçi on Report TV.
