The British Embassy in Tirana has reacted to the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja, who was executed in the courtroom, just after he had finished pronouncing a verdict on behalf of the Republic.
In a post on social media, the Embassy strongly condemned the serious act, while calling for stronger measures to protect the safety of judges.
The British Embassy has expressed its condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased judge.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Judge Astrit Kalaja. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues."
"We strongly condemn the act of violence and call for urgent measures to guarantee the safety of judges and the integrity of the courts," the post reads.
