One of the people who should be subject to investigation by SPAK and the "Xhafaj" parliamentary committee on the fight against corruption is the member of this committee, the SP MP, Toni Gogu alias Oltion Gogu, against whom the ILDKPI has not conducted an asset verification during his 25 years in state duties.
A simple observation of his assets, from the first declaration in 2004 when he was Chancellor of the Court of Tirana until today, compared to his income, shows that priest MP Toni Gogu seems to have millions falling from the sky, praying to God.
Initially, he states that he only had 1 120 m2 apartment worth 46 million lek, which he says he bought with a loan from a bank, but to date has not declared its repayment.
In 2005, when he was still Chancellor of the Court and after leaving this position, MP Toni Gogu had millions "fallen from the sky", with which he bought a car for 4.5 million lekë; he paid off a debt of 7 thousand dollars and signed a business contract worth 13 thousand dollars, while in parallel he paid off a loan of 36 thousand dollars.
In 2006, after starting work at the State Bank, MP priest Toni Gogu had millions more fall from the sky; with which he bought 3 plots of land 1500 m2, 855 m2 and 423 m2 with a total value of 24 million lek, a 12 thousand dollar business contract and paid off a 3200 Euro debt.
In 2007, when he was in his second year of working as a lawyer at the Bank of Albania, MP Toni Gogu ordered a 190 m2 apartment worth 85 million lek, and 1 apartment worth 34 thousand dollars, both with parallel loans, but he also repaid 8200 dollars in debt.
In 2008, he purchased a car for 20 thousand Euros and took out a loan worth 4900 Euros to purchase another car; while in the years 2009-2012, he declared parallel repayment of 4 loans.
The strange fact is that the woman Edlira Gogu is registered with a monthly salary of 30 thousand lek to her NGO "Pro familjes", but has declared numerous incomes, while she has declared thousands of Euros in income as salary to the "Fara e Shpresës-Shkozë" foundation, which is not registered.
In 2013, after leaving the State Bank and being appointed Director of Deposit Insurance, priest Toni Gogu declared 10 million lek in investment in the pension fund and parallel repayment of bank loans, while in 2014 he declared 6 million lek in cash savings.
In 2016-2017, after leaving his position as General Director of Deposit Insurance, he declared the purchase of a 1268 m2 plot of land worth 34 million lek in Peza, on which he built a 244 m2 apartment, with a construction value of 54 million lek.
But he has ordered the construction of another apartment, with an area of 80 m2 + 11 with a veranda on 100 m2 of land worth 100 thousand Euros, and declares the purchase of 2 cars "Benz 203-C 200" and "Benz 320-CDI" for 4800 Euros each and has 20 million lek in bank deposits.
In 2018, when he was Deputy Minister of Justice, he declared a deposit increase of 25 thousand Euros; 1.9 million lekë in income from the show "Albanian Sunday" and loan repayments; while after 2019 and until 2024, when he was the chairman of the Municipal Council, Prefect of Tirana and MP, he declared 15 million Euros in cash savings at home, home refurnishing and loan repayments.
In addition to the expenses for their luxurious lifestyle, they also keep a pack of dogs and cats in the apartment, while their wife Edlira Gogu and two children Antonia and Teojorg Gogu declare monthly salaries of 30 thousand lek to their NGO "Pro Familjes".
