After the celebration of the RS Day, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia-Herzegovina is now monitoring all events that may have elements of a criminal offense. Will Dodiku be arrested?
Warnings from the international community in Bosnia-Herzegovina, whether from the Office of the High Representative or individual ambassadors from members of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC), did not prevent the celebration of Republika Srpska (RS) Day in Banja Luka.
For the seventh time since the first decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BH), which declared January 9 unconstitutional for the celebration of the Day of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the largest parade of members of the police and civil sector, with over three thousand participants.

"Now we have to leave January 9, 2023 and look to the future. It must be said that January 9, 2024 will not happen again in such frameworks. State and entity holidays can be celebrated, but it can be done in a different way," High Representative Christian Schmidt said a year ago. Since then, he has called on the judiciary in BiH in several cases to react within its jurisdiction, considering that the institutional marking of the RS Day "violates the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH".
The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced on January 9 that, together with partner law enforcement agencies, they are "monitoring all events that may have elements of criminal offenses under our jurisdiction."
The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia-Herzegovina will be able to decide on further activities in the coming period after analyzing the submitted applications and consultations with partner institutions", said this judicial institution.
There has been no reaction from OHR yet. Previously, they called on the authorities of the entity not to celebrate the RS Day on the date disputed by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. But the current celebration was the largest ever, with over three thousand participants. Along with the light effects from the drones, it was also the most expensive party so far, for which a million and a half convertible marks were allocated.
"We don't need colonizers or pimps. This people has never lived in captivity. Therefore, this should not be banned, if it is banned, it means that we have fallen", said the president of RS Milorad Dodik at the solemn ceremony marking the Day of the Republic of Srpska.
"We are looking at Serbia, Russia and our people. We do not want any conflicts and we will not lead them. We want our policemen to protect our houses that exist in these areas," said Dodik, next to whom the Russian ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Igor Kalabuhov, stood at the ceremony.
US and EU warnings

Më 9 janar u vendosën lule në Memorialin në Potoçar, nga Nënat e Srebrenicës dhe Denis Beqiroviç, anëtar boshnjak i Presidencës së B-H. Duke komentuar iniciativën e nënave për shpalljen e 9 janarit si ditë zie, Beqiroviç tha se ai erdhi për të dërguar një mesazh se ata “do të ecin lirshëm dhe me dinjitet në çdo pëllëmbë të Bosnjë-Hercegovinës”.

Decorations of Orban and Putin
In celebration of RS Day last year, the Order of the Necklace was awarded to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his "patriotic stance and love for RS". The highest award this year was received by the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban. "The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, has accepted to receive the highest award of RS. It is the pride of the Republic that it can give thanks to the man who is ready to respect us as a real political fact", said Dodik, explaining that he will deliver the order to Orbani next month. The arrival of the Hungarian Prime Minister was announced earlier, but he did not come. In Banja Luka there was only one Serbian delegation headed by the Speaker of the Serbian Assembly, Vladimir Orlić.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, sent a letter of congratulations, but this year he did not participate in this celebration either. Since the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court in 2015, Vucic led the Serbian delegation to the party only in 2016 as prime minister.
