Israel appears to have launched a ground operation in Gaza. Before the army heads towards the places where the members of Hamas are staying, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ministers have appeared before the journalists.
"Yesterday, troops entered Gaza from the "gates of evil". The "supreme" goal of the operation is "to completely defeat the murderous enemy and guarantee our existence as a state]. There are moments when a state is faced with two options - to exist or not to exist. Israel is doing "everything it can" to avoid civilian casualties, before accusing Hamas of war crimes," Netanyahu said.
He thanks Western leaders, saying he should listen to their advice, but does not back down from the plan to wipe out Hamas. "We will fight and win... this is our life's mission," he said.
