Two rounds of talks have been held between Iranian and American officials in Pakistan, while a third round is expected to be held on Saturday evening or Sunday, while negotiations are underway in Islamabad.
"According to information given to a state television correspondent by a person close to the negotiating team, another round of negotiations is likely to be held tonight or tomorrow ," Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported.
A correspondent for Iranian state television reported that there were plans for a third round of talks, the latest in Pakistan-brokered efforts to end the war.
"We are waiting to see if this third round will happen or not ," the correspondent said, according to state television.
Separately, the White House said high-level trilateral talks with Iran and Pakistan were "ongoing" in Islamabad late Saturday, with negotiations aimed at ending the war in the Middle East. A senior White House official said in a brief statement that the talks were continuing.
