Several explosions have been heard in Tehran, according to international media reports. The BBC reports that the Iranian capital is currently under attack.
Meanwhile, journalists from the Agence France-Presse (AFP) agency report that they have heard at least three large explosions in the city.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also announced that Iran has launched new missiles towards Israeli territory.
In a post on social media, the Israeli military said it was working to intercept the rockets and that alerts had been activated on the mobile phones of residents in areas that could be affected.
The IDF called on citizens, upon receiving the alert, to enter protected areas and remain there until further notice.
