The personal stories of the 59 young people who lost their lives this Sunday morning as a result of a fire in a nightclub in Kocani, North Macedonia, are horrifying.

Neighboring media have published the horrifying story of Tose Bogdanov, one of the 59 people who lost their lives in the fire at the "Pulse" discotheque in Kocani.

Bogdanov went out with his friends last night to celebrate the birth of his son. But the joy turned into tragedy for his family, and unfortunately his son will grow up without a father.

"Tose had a son and went out to celebrate the birth of the child with friends. He wanted to celebrate with his friends and went to a disco, and now he's gone forever," a person told Informer.

At least 59 people lost their lives in the early hours of today in the eastern North Macedonian city of Kocani, as a result of a fire that broke out during a concert with over 1,500 participants in a nightclub.

Over 155 people were reported injured – over 80 of them were transferred to clinics in Skopje, a city about 100 kilometers from Kocani.

Macedonian Interior Minister Pance Toshkovski said that according to information received, the fire broke out as a result of pyrotechnics used for lighting effects at the ADN band concert.

He said four arrest warrants had been issued, without giving further details.
Toshkovski said earlier in the day that one person had been arrested, while the MIA news agency reported that the club's owner had been detained.
