After making a "mess" around the world, the French president, Emmanuel Macron, has declared that France is not considering sending military personnel to Ukraine in the near future.
In an interview with the Czech newspaper Pravo, Macron appreciated the international reaction to his statement about the possibility of deploying military forces in Ukraine. The French president stated that he does not rule out such a possibility.
" This does not mean that we are considering sending French troops to Ukraine in the near future, but it does mean that we have started a discussion and are considering everything that can be done to support Ukraine, especially on Ukrainian territory ," Macron said.
After Macron's statement, there was an international reaction from France's western allies, starting with the US and Germany, who immediately opposed the possibility of sending troops from NATO or EU countries to Ukraine.
Russia also reacted after the French President's statement, with the Kremlin emphasizing that if soldiers from NATO countries fight in Ukraine, this would translate into direct war.
