Hamas's armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, has claimed responsibility for a shooting and stabbing attack in Tel Aviv on Tuesday that killed at least seven people and wounded several others.
The incident began when a gunman opened fire on members of the public in the Jaffa area of the Israeli capital, Tel Aviv.
Local police said the attack began in a railway carriage and continued on the platform. The gunman and another knife-wielding attacker were "neutralised" by members of the public, he said.
In a statement on Wednesday, the al-Qassam Brigades said it claimed responsibility for the operation.
