Japanese broadcaster NHK has released footage of where the powerful earthquake shook the coastline in Ishikawa prefecture.
A powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of central-western Japan today, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning.
The strong earthquake was preceded by a first shock with a magnitude of 5.5 in the same area. There are still no reports of casualties, injuries or material damage.
" Japanese authorities have ordered the population to evacuate the area hit by the earthquake. All residents should immediately evacuate to higher ground ," national broadcaster NHK announced after the earthquake struck the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture.
