US President Donald Trump, after complaining about the issue for years, signed an executive order to lift water pressure restrictions. He said he wanted to “take care of his beautiful hair.”
Trump's executive order reverses water protection and management measures taken by the two previous Democratic presidents, Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
As the White House declared, Trump will “end the Obama-Biden war on water pressure and make America's showers great again.”
"Overregulation stifles the American economy, empowers bureaucrats, and stifle personal freedom ," the White House said in a statement.
The US president asked the Department of Energy to repeal the regulation originally approved by Obama and reinstated by Biden, which required showerheads to discharge up to 9.5 liters of water per minute.
Trump's order lifts restrictions on all appliances that use water, from toilets to dishwashers.
"In my case, I like to take a nice shower, take care of my beautiful hair," Trump explained during the signing of the order.
He added that according to current regulations he must shower for 15 minutes, calling the situation ridiculous.
"We will increase the volume of water that flows from showers," Trump emphasized.
