Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran was interested in reducing tensions and was ready to talk once the joint US-Israeli attacks ended.
He added that Iran is interested in talks and that it is only attacking US military facilities in the Middle East region and not "Americans on their own soil" in retaliation. Araghchi stressed that the path of war was chosen by the US and not by them. The Foreign Minister said that their attacks were nothing more than an act of self-defense against Israeli-American attacks.
“ There is no communication right now. But if the Americans want to talk to us, they know how to contact me. We are certainly interested in de-escalation. This is a war chosen by the United States and they have to pay for it. But, as far as we are concerned, we do not want war. American forces were attacking our people in our cities, but that is not what we are going to do.
"We are attacking American bases, military bases in the region and military installations and facilities, and this is only as an act of self-defense. We are not, we are not the ones who are initiating this aggression. It was the United States and Israel that initiated this aggression. So, there is no limit for us to defend ourselves, but as soon as the aggression stops, we will also stop our self-defense ," Araghchi told NBC News.
