Israel is preparing to strike Iran's energy infrastructure but is awaiting final approval from the United States, a senior defense official said. The strikes could be launched within the next week, signaling a further escalation in the conflict.

The developments come immediately after the 48-hour ultimatum given by US President Donald Trump, which increased pressure on Tehran and left open the possibility of new military action.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump declared:
"You'll remember when I gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Time is running out - 48 hours left before all hell breaks loose on them."

The Strait of Hormuz remains a key point for global energy trade and has been closed by Iran since the start of the conflict, raising international concerns.

Meanwhile, the war on the ground continues to escalate. US forces are searching for a missing pilot after an F-15 jet was shot down in Iran, while Tehran has announced a reward for his capture.

One crew member was reportedly rescued, while the search for the other is ongoing. The incident marks the first major loss of a US aircraft since the start of the war in the Middle East on February 28.

At the same time, Iran has also shot down another American A-10 aircraft in Kuwait, while downing several aircraft and intensifying missile and drone attacks.

President Trump also stated that military developments will not affect potential negotiations with Iran, emphasizing: "This is war. We are at war."

The situation in the region remains unclear, while the possibility of striking Iranian energy facilities is seen as a step that could significantly expand the conflict and have consequences for global markets and regional stability.
