Greek police conducted a search in the early hours of March 28 at Koridhalos prison, a well-known institution where many Albanian citizens serving sentences are also held.
The operation was based on operational information and led by the anti-organized crime structures. The anti-narcotics unit, in cooperation with intelligence structures and special groups, inspected a cell in the presence of a prosecutor. A police dog was also involved in the operation.
During the search, authorities found 53.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine on a 29-year-old foreign prisoner. The substance was divided into 39 packaged doses. 75 euros were also seized in the same premises.
The police arrested the person and referred the case to the criminal prosecution authorities.
