More details continue to emerge regarding the terrorist act in Bond Beach, Australia, where at least 16 people lost their lives and 40 others were injured as a result of a shooting spree by two people, one of whom was killed.

Recently, a video is circulating on social media, which is going viral, showing an elderly man fighting with one of the terrorists, identified as Sajid Akram.

The video, which was uploaded to a Chinese social media platform on Tuesday, shows a man in a purple shirt grappling with the 50-year-old terrorist, knocking him down, in an attempt to take his gun.

Akram is seen slumped to the ground, while the elderly man stands next to him. A woman watches the scuffle in shock. The terrorist is later seen continuing his murderous mission with his son, Navid.

Drone footage released after the attacks shows the same man, in the purple shirt, appearing to have died next to the Hyundai car.

In a separate image circulating online, the woman is then seen lying down and hugging the man in purple clothes.

"The car camera suddenly captured this entire shocking event," the video caption reads.

"A terrorist on the bridge fired one, two, three shots in quick succession. The other terrorist, who had just gotten out of his car, saw an elderly man on the side of the road. Instead of running away, he ran towards the danger, desperately trying to grab the gun! Seeing the elderly man being shot and eventually falling on the video was heartbreaking," continues the commentary accompanying the published footage.

The jihadist preacher who "inspired" the mass murderer

Akram's son, Naveed, had links to the Islamic State through connections he made as a follower of radical jihadist preacher Wissam Haddad, known for indoctrinating young people through his prayer space in the Sydney suburb of Bankstown, the Al Madinah Dawah Centre. He appeared in a video in 2019 making converts and distributing leaflets for the Street Dawah Movement, which is linked to Haddad and other extremists.

The gunmen who spread terror and death during the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah visited the Philippines in November, it has now been revealed.

They arrived in the country on November 1 and left on November 28, the country's immigration office told the BBC.
