US President Donald Trump has commented on actress Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle jeans ad, which featured the slogan "Sydney Sweeney has good genes."
The ad was criticized by some who accused it of covertly promoting white supremacy, but the US president said he found the ad "fantastic" after being informed that Sweeney is registered as a Republican.
????BREAKING: President Trump just announced he "LOVES" Sydney Sweeney and thinks her ad is "FANTASTIC" if she's a registered Republican.

The ad was "ripped off" from every angle, from the white-centric message to the fact that a product for women was apparently marketed to men.
Then, as the Sydney team and American Eagle grappled with the fallout from the controversial campaign, multiple publications revealed its ties to the Republican Party.
According to publicly available records reviewed by The Guardian, Sydney registered to vote as a Republican in Florida on June 14, 2024.
When the reporter confirmed the statement, Trump grinned, "Is that true?" before adding, "You'd be surprised how many people are Republicans. I wouldn't have known that, but I'm glad you told me. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic."
People found the moment incredibly shocking, as one person said on Twitter: "You know the ad campaign was wrong because the worst people on the planet are defending it."
A few days ago, Donald Trump Jr. had already spoken out on the issue, posting an artificial intelligence-generated photo of his father on Instagram, in which the president, posing as a model, was wearing a shirt and jeans.
"Donald is so attractive now!!!" wrote his son.
