"Raise the white flag"/ Ukraine rejects the Pope's proposal: Has
Pope-Zelensky

The Embassy of Ukraine in the Vatican has strongly responded to the statements of Pope Francis, who in an interview emphasized the urgency of a negotiation and suggested that the country "raise a white flag".

In its response, the Embassy of Ukraine stated that achieving peace is the same as negotiating with Hitler. The reaction also states that "if we want the war to end, they must kill the Dragon (Putin).

"It is very important to behave with consistency. When we refer to the third world war, which we are living now, we should be taught a lesson: at that time, was there anyone who talked about peace negotiations with Adolf Hitler and a white flag to please him? The lesson is only one: if we want the war to end, we must do everything we can to kill the Dragon!",  writes the Embassy of Ukraine in the Vatican.

The Pope asked Kiev to raise the white flag, as he describes what is happening in Gaza as a war being waged by the irresponsible. He also once again denounced the horror of war "behind which the arms industry hides".

"I think the strongest is the one who sees the situation, thinks about his people and has the courage to raise the white flag and negotiate. The word negotiation is bold. When you see that you are defeated, that things are not going well, you must have the courage to negotiate. You may be ashamed to negotiate, but how many dead will this war count? You have to negotiate in time, find a state that can become a mediator" , said the Pope during an interview given to the Italo-Swiss television (RSI) recorded in February, but which will be broadcast on March 20.

In fact, a mediator has been vetoed to bring the parties to the table and he is Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. But there is still no final answer on whether the parties will accept this offer.

Last month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that 31,000 soldiers had died in the war. However, he seems far from raising the white flag, since during his visit to Tirana he asked for more armaments and help from allied countries and proposed the co-production of ammunition with the countries of the Balkans, including Albania.
