A Frenchman believed to be a key member of a Marseille drug-trafficking clan was arrested in Spain on Sunday, according to Spanish police, who described him as "one of France's most wanted fugitives".
According to a statement from Spanish police, the criminal, for whom a European arrest warrant has been issued, was arrested in a bar on the coast south of Barcelona and identified as Jean-Antoni Blas, born in 1990.
The arrested person has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in France for drug trafficking, possession of weapons without a permit, violation of public order and security and membership in an organized criminal gang.
He escaped during a police operation against him in March 2023 in France. He used four different identities during his escape.
