Clashes with Trump, Elon Musk returns to threats: I will establish a new party,

Clashes are returning between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, once friends and allies, who were involved in mutual accusations and threats between them, after the American President proposed the comprehensive budget law, which the richest man in the world opposes.

Most recently, Elon Musk has vowed to unseat lawmakers who support Donald Trump's sweeping budget bill, which he has criticized because it would increase the country's deficit by $3.3 trillion.

"Every member of Congress who campaigned on cutting government spending and then immediately voted for the largest debt increase in history should hang their heads in shame! And they will lose the primary next year if that is the last thing I do on this Earth," he wrote on his social media platform, X.

A few hours later he added that if "the crazy spending bill passes, the American Party will be formed the next day."

With these threats, directed at lawmakers on social media, the tech billionaire is back in a clash with the US president. Since leaving the so-called "department of government efficiency" or Doge, Musk has sharply criticized Trump's budget bill, which he says will harm his work at Doge by increasing spending.

Musk had been relatively quiet about the bill after his dramatic clash with Trump, but returned to the debate this weekend.

"Time for a new political party that truly cares about the people," he wrote.

After contributing $277 million to Trump's political campaign, Musk became a vital part of the orbit of the US president and his administration. Doge, who oversaw sudden and chaotic cuts to various government programs, claimed to have saved $190 billion. But the effort may have cost taxpayers another $135 billion, according to an analysis by the Partnership for Public Service (PSP), a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that focuses on the federal workforce.

Both Musk and Trump were on board with cutting social safety net programs, environmental and health initiatives, and global aid programs. But Musk has railed against the president's proposal, which he calls his "big, beautiful bill."

The Senate version of the bill would add nearly $3.3 trillion to the deficit over the next decade, according to an estimate by the Congressional Budget Office, while the bill passed by the House of Representatives would add $2.4 trillion to the deficit over the next decade.
