Two days ago, Moscow declared that there were several European countries that were ready to act as host countries for parties from Russia and Ukraine, to reach a peace agreement after Donald Trump came to power.
At a press conference, Putin stated that Slovakia is ready to host peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
The Russian president said the Slovak authorities would be happy to offer their country as a platform for negotiations.
" We are not against it, if it comes to that. Why not? Since Slovakia maintains such a neutral position ," Putin said.
We recall that Roberto Fico, the prime minister of Slovakia, recently became the third Western leader to visit Moscow for talks with Vladimir Putin. Fico has been a vocal critic of the EU's support for Ukraine in the war. He also survived an assassination attempt on May 15, 2024.
