US President Donald Trump has attacked US media organisations for their coverage of the war in Iran. He lashed out at the New York Times, CNN and The Wall Street Journal, calling them corrupt and failed media outlets that, according to him, only spread fake news.
Through a post on his 'Truth Social' platform, the US president raised the assumption that when Iran surrendered completely, what claims would these media outlets, which according to him have so far spoken of a victory for Tehran, make?
"If Iran surrenders, admits that their Navy is gone and at the bottom of the sea, and their Air Force is no longer with us, and if their entire military marches out of Tehran, weapons down and hands up, each shouting 'I surrender, I surrender' while waving the representative White Flag, and if their entire remaining Leadership signs all necessary 'Documents of Surrender', and acknowledges their defeat to the great power and might of the great United States, The Failing New York Times, The China Street Journal (WSJ!), the corrupt and now irrelevant CNN, and all other members of the Fake News Media, will write that Iran had a Masterful and Brilliant Victory over the United States of America, it wasn't even close. The Foolishcrats and the media have completely lost their way. They have gone completely crazy!!!" Trump wrote.
It is not yet known whether Trump's statement is related to the proposal that Iran submitted today through Pakistan and whether the president was listing some of the conditions that may have been agreed upon between the parties. However, there has been no reaction from Washington regarding the Pakistani proposal yet.
