A serious incident has been discovered in Halkidiki, Greece, where authorities are investigating the discovery of a bag of human bones in a forest area in Pefkohori.
The discovery was made on Thursday afternoon at around 5:30 PM, in the Glarokavos area, by the community leader, Giorgos Tsirkoudis, who was at the scene along with workers carrying out cleanup work.
According to the latest information, the body was found without a head.
In a statement to local media thestival.gr, Tsirkoudis said: “ It was exactly 5:30 when I found a wrapped bag, which was torn in several places. At first I thought it was animal bones, but in the end it turned out that there was a human body inside. When I looked closer, I saw a hand with a ring. It was a person. There was also a suitcase nearby; I believe the body was inside it and, due to the cleaning of the area, it came to the surface .”
The Sub-Directorate for Crimes against Life and Property, part of the Sub-Directorate for the Fight against Organized Crime in Northern Greece, is participating in the investigations.
